You are on the course and you have just hit. All the app wants to know is where the ball finished. There are three ways to tell it, and you can move between them inside the same round.
The hole you are standing on is drawn on the screen, with its own fairway, bunkers and green. Tap where the ball came to rest.
Walk to the ball and let the phone read where you are. Useful when you would rather not judge it off a map.
Fairway, rough, sand, green, and a miss to the left or the right. For the rounds where you want to keep your head up.
Most courses have a corner with no coverage. The course you are playing is held on the phone before you tee off, so recording carries on regardless. When a connection comes back, the round syncs.

A wall of numbers tells you nothing. These are the few that point at a decision: which club off the tee, which target on the approach, and which holes are quietly doing the damage.
Course data
Every hole is drawn from OpenStreetMap, the map of the world that anyone can edit. The fairways, bunkers, greens and water you tap on are the shapes mappers have recorded for that course.
